Deputy CEO of KBZ Bank

Nang is an Executive Director and Deputy CEO of KBZ Bank, and is a part of the leadership team working on the transformation of its financial institutions as Myanmar transitions into a digital economy. She is one of the founding members of KBZPay, Myanmar’s leading digital wallet.

KBZPay has expedited Myanmar population’s adoption towards mobile transactions in recent years as well as during the COVID-19 pandemic. KBZPay connects customers to a network of more than 290,000 agents and merchants, making it possible to transfer money to others 24/7 without incurring any fees and the convenience of making payments digitally. By May 2021, KBZ pay had reached 8 million customers. Of the 8 million KBZ pay customers, women make up 51% (4.1 millions) and 48% (3.9 millions) are men, supporting the growth of e-commerce in the country.

She is also the co-founder of the family’s philanthropic foundation, now undergoing reforms to uplift the lives of Myanmar’s developing communities and increase shared prosperity with impact-focused initiatives. The reformed foundation aims to introduce catalytic impact in Myanmar through collaborations and greater accountability.

As a passionate advocate for gender parity, she currently serves as the Chair and board member of the Business Coalition for Gender Equality (BCGE), which KBZ Bank is a founding member of. BCGE offers support and implements initiatives to achieve equal gender opportunities in the workplace.

She is a member of YPO and has participated in various leadership programmes including the Fortune Global Women’s Mentoring Partnership, Singapore Summit’s Young Societal Leaders, and the British Government’s International Leaders Programme. She was featured in Forbes Magazine’s list of “Asia’s Women to Watch 2016”, Women’s Forum Rising Talent 2016, and named a “Promising Young Banker” by The Asian Banker in 2017.

Nang holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore (NUS), and Master of Management from the University of Sydney.
